| What did the NWCAV experience mean to you? |
During the period of study at NWCAV, it helped me to build up a strong foundation and confidence in my skills and techniques. I was also inspired by those helpful instructors for the passion they have and foods they love. |
|
| Where are you working now? |
After school, I started to work as a stage at different fine dining restaurants (C restaurant and Chambar) in Vancouver. During the time of practice in restaurants, I had chances to work at garde manger, pan, grill and pastry stations. I have been learning a lot from these experiences I have gone through. I think I will continue my practice in the next few months at some new places. |
|
| What are your long term goals? |
To open my own restaurant is my goal in the next 3 years, so I will keep working at this field to master my skills and techniques. |
|
| Information you would like to share with prospective NWCAV students |
The 15 weeks course was really intensive, you are learning about everything in the kitchen. Importantly, you have to practice and study more after school to enhance the skills you learn in class. The last thing I want to say is get a sharp knife. |
