2nd annual Pender Harbour Garlic Festival was a blast on the weekend of August 20-21st
Neil and Nikki Smith of the Lions club with countless volunteers pulled off the 2nd annual Garlic festival on the grounds of the Lions Club in Pender harbour just north of Garden Bay, 1700 attendees, dozens of vendors and 2 days of entertainment including Folk favourite Valdi it was a very successful Festival, As some of us have noticed most of our garlic comes from China, according to some stats China now produces 80% of the garlic consumed in the world!!! The festival gave an opportunity to all local garlic growers to connect with locals and tourists over these 2 days, from roasted garlic to garlic chocolate it was a fun week end to be part of.
Neil confirmed that the Festival is definitely here to stay and will remain at the same location the 3rd weekend of August. See you next year.
