Culinary Class With Chef Ned Bell
Food is a key part of how we care for our patients, yet it often plays a background role in healthcare settings. It is also an important way that we can care for ourselves, our families, and our communities.
Join us on Monday, September 15th from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm as we explore the transformational power of food for our health, the health of our patients, and the health of our planet, all while preparing some delicious recipes together! This session will be led by none other than Chef Ned Bell, who will teach you how to prepare two of the new dishes that have been created for the patient menus across Vancouver Coastal Health. You will also hear from Tiffany Chiang RD, VCH Director of Food Transformation and Strategic Projects, Elaine Eppler RD, VCH clinical dietitian, and Annie Lalande MD, PhD candidate and general surgery resident, who will share their perspectives on this important work.
Up to 32 people will be able to attend this special, in-person event at Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver. Don’t miss your chance and reserve your spot today! Early bird tickets are $15 until September 5th, and $25 afterwards! We are looking forward to meeting you in the kitchen.
This project is co-funded by a grant from Nourish Leadership, a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to improving food in healthcare for better community health, equity, and planetary health, and the UBC Public Scholars’ Initiative, a fund supporting graduate students conducting research that contributes to the public good.
For inquiries, please reach out to Annie Lalande at alalande@student.ubc.ca.
